TANGO Seaweed wins ‘Best Industrial Start-Up’ Award
We are happy and proud to share that TANGO Seaweed was recognised as the ‘Best Industrial Start-Up’ during the Industrial Design Conference 2019, which took place at Giske yesterday.
This year’s conference featured high-ranking Norwegian and international speakers and participants on the subject of ‘Sustainability and The Art of Innovation’ and concluded with the award ceremony in four different categories related to industrial design.
The ‘Best Industrial Start-Up’ title is awarded to a company (<5 yrs) which
actively uses design in its production and development
through its focus on design creates products or solutions which are especially promising – strategically and holistically
The jury includes the following points for its decision:
TANGO Seaweed has excelled by
making use of the ocean as the region’s most important resource
having a clear focus on knowledge-based innovation for sustainable production
seriously and dedicatedly working on selected UN sustainable development goals, especially sustainable food production
taking responsibility as a pioneer in a market with enormous potential
creating attractive and appealing products which match the company’s brand
To be acknowledged in this way means that our core values – working with circularity by design in all we do and according to nature’s principles – are timely and in line with a new way of thinking and doing business. In addition to the honour, encouragement and recognition, we will also receive 50,000 NOK from Sparebanken Møre, which we intend to use towards further communicating our story – so that the diversity of seaweeds and their products, as well as the full potential of seaweed farming for a healthy planet gradually may receive the attention they deserve.
We are equally humbled and grateful to receive this award in such an early and crucial phase of our development.
