The winged kelp - Alaria esculenta - has grown to beautiful dense curtains on the ropes

Both sugar kelp and winged kelp are developing very fast

After just 3 weeks of monitoring our seaweeds' growth last time, we see enormous progress again. Whereas on March 2nd, the sugar kelp (Saccharina latissima) was only visible on some of the ropes (from the October seeding), it is now prominent in the entire field. The longest individuals are up to 60cm in length.

The winged kelp (Alaria esculenta) has developed into beautiful lush curtains with maximum 150cm length.

Please watch the video below and be amazed like us.

We keep track of the changes - such as growth and density in relation to rope type, water depth, etc. - for all the seaweeds in the farm.

Judging by the results, harvesting will start in a few weeks from now.

Do the kelps really taste as good as the look?? In fact - they do!
